My Hair!

Hello there my lovely readers! Today I’m writing you a little post all about my hair. I’ve given out a lot of advice on here, but I thought I’d share my personal hair story by answering some questions!

My hair is currently dyed. I go through stages of dying it a lot and leaving it natural. I last dyed it at the start of January and I won’t dye it again until the end of the month. I try and leave it at least 6-8 weeks before I re-dye because it makes me feel  little better about the strain I’m putting it under. Currently it’s dyed with L’Oreal’s Casting Crème Gloss in Chocolate and I’m planning to go to the same brands Blackcurrant dye.

Hair dye can damage your hair, this is when it all get complicated and technical… If you are using a permanent hair dye you have to lift the hair using a hydrogen peroxide (developer). This process raises or opens up the cuticle layer of the hair to allow the colour molecules to penetrate the cortex depositing the colour which could damage the hair if not done properly. Still with me? Good good.  If you use the wrong level of peroxide or if you constantly change your hair colour (over-processing) this is what will cause the damage to your hair. However, if you use a semi-permanent or demi-permanent they will help add extra shine and condition to the hair but will only last a couple of shampoos.

My hair history is quite different. When I was born I was blonde up until I started middle school. I had a blonde bob in my first school, and shoulder length in my secondary school. One year I just chopped it all off into a bob and I will never do that again!

My hair type is fine but there seems to be quite a lot of it. It almost looks like I have extensions in when I straighten it. I love it!

My natural hair state, without brushing or blow drying is.. hard to say. I almost ALWAYS brush my hair; even if I’m not going to blow dry it. It dries straight but the ends are kinky/flicky out, what a pain that is.

I have grown my hair out for almost a year now, I went for my once a year trim the other day and that’ll be it for the next twelve months! My hair is as long as it can be now, so it’s just a matter of keeping it tidy.

I tie my hair up at night differently depending on what my hairs been like that day, what I want the next day and if it’s wet or not. For example, my hairs clean, dry and has been in a side plait all day, so it will remain in said side plait tonight as I am feeling lazy!

My hair pattern/type runs in my family, both my parents have the same colour hair and type of hair as me, and I thank them for it! I love it.

I wash my hair every other day as it doesn’t get greasy very easily. Unless I put a lot of product in, then I will wash it that day. I don’t wash it in any particular way either, just shampoo, conditioner and then a rinse!

It takes me about 15-30 minutes to style my hair depending on what I do, if I blow dry and straighten – that takes the most time.

I grew my fringe out a long while back, but I still manage to style it. I turn it into a quiff, either down the middle, or to either side. I also plait it or twist it, these make buns and ponytails cute.

My current shampoo and conditioner is the Aussie MEGA. It’s my favourite by far. I use a few different products;

-          Elentt Hairspray, Very Volume Extra Strength
-          L’Oreal Paris Studio Line Silk & Gloss Curl Mousse

-          VO5 Volumising Gel Spray

Complete Bloggers Block

Whoops, I think I have bloggers block..

again.

Blogging can be like a roller coaster, one day you just can't stop writing and the next - nothing. I've been in the low dip of this roller coaster for a couple weeks now. I sit down, open up my blog and just stare at the blank page. What do I write? I haven't really done anything exciting recently, I have a few new products but not enough to write a review on, I haven't really brought anything recently either. Well, might as well try and tell you about my first month in 2014. (Oh! I can do a January favorites.. I've just realised)

January has been quite uneventful this year. I have, however been out for four meals. The first was in a lovely little pub in my village and I conquered a steak.. an eight ounce steak I'll just add.. I'm just a baby. It was a good steak - a lot of places can't cook it perfectly, I love my steak medium rare and a lot of the time it will always come medium. Yuck! I wish I'd taken a photo now - chips, mushrooms, coleslaw, tomatoes and onion rings. SO GOOD. The second was to an Indian - vegetable korma. Then I had a problem.. I went to Weatherspoons one day followed by a Harvester the next with a best friend.. and had BBQ ribs both places. Whoops. :(

I've changed up my appearance a bit too this month, I've worn the same frames for a couple years now, so I felt like it was time for a change, black big frames suit my face shape so well. Photos soon! I also bit the bullet and finally dyed my hair. It said 'chocolate' on the box but my hair turned into a redy-brown hue. It's still gorgeous though. So it all turned out right in the end.

I'm on the countdown to my holiday! My holiday from work starts on the thirteenth of February, and I catch my plane to Austria on the fifteenth! SO excited to touch down in the snowy mountain range of Salzburg and get into Rauris!

What did you do this January?
