My Lipstick Collection | Devon Kelly

Sometimes, I just have to put blogging on hold. Sometimes it’s because I’m so busy but normally it’s because I just lose inspiration. If blogging or youtubing starts to feel like it’s becoming a chore then I don’t want to do it anymore and then suddenly, one day I’ll get hit by a lightning bolt of ‘yeah, let’s do this!’ and here is the result!

Now I   -   L  O  V  E   -   lipsticks so I’ve decided to finally do a ‘Lipstick Collection’ post.

I’d love to say I have loads MAC lipsticks but I don’t, I have three and six other branded lippys to share with you. (You never know, maybe one day I’ll have more)

Pinks

L-R: Pomegranate; Shocking Coral; Funtime Fuchsia, Bubblegum

Pomegranate, No7 Stay Perfect

This No7 was a ‘freebie’ from boots after buying three of their products. I chose this with the help on my best friend, as I was reaching for the nudes, (my safety blanket) and I got thoroughly told off. So we went for a bright pink/fuchsia instead.
This is a deep pink, which is halfway between a red hue and a purple hue. It’s quite a sophisticated office colour, if you apply with a brush to control the boldness.

Shocking Coral, Maybelline ColorSensational

This was a brave move by me, it wasn’t a colour I was used to reaching for at the Maybelline counter. I’ve had it for a while now but hardly used it until recently. It’s very easy to apply and has good staying power.

Funtime Fuchsia, Rimmel Moisture Renewal

This was actually one of my first lipsticks I owned. This has a very purple sheen to it, if you catch it in the right light. I do enjoy it though. Like I said previously, I never wore any of my original lipsticks as I was in college and bright coral lipsticks weren’t really acceptable. Recently going into an office job, it’s at my disposal to play with various colours and make up looks – so this is a definite first colour to start with.

Bubblegum, Collection Lasting Colour

Now this is a BRAVE shade, I’m still debating keeping this as I really don’t know when I’m going to wear it! This is a true baby/Barbie pink lipstick. I do like it with either a bare or full on eye though.

Nudes

L to R: Creme Cup, Faux and The One

Crème Cup, Mac Cremesheen

This one is a perfect, ‘your lips but better’ lipstick for me. It’s a pretty baby pink/nude colour. I wear this with a Rimmel Liner or a Mac Liner

Faux, Mac Satin

This is a massively popular lipstick shade from Mac. Kylie Jenner as previously said she loves the Faux lip liner and since then, they flew off of the shelves.

The One, Revolution

This is a lovely basic nude, that doesn’t wash my pale self out. This was a definite go to when I was younger and this is actually a new tube after losing my first!

Reds

L to R: Hot Tahiti and Fatal Red

Hot Tahiti, Mac Glaze
I have loved this shade over the summer, (my bestie also loved it the other weekend – hence the shape!) it’s a beautiful off-red lipstick, and because it’s a sheer glaze, it’s very buildable.

Fatal Red, Maybelline ColorSensational

This is a very popular type of red as I believe it is a ‘blue toned red’, (think Ruby Woo) and it makes my skin look flawless. It’s a perfect Christmas Party colour!

Get To Know Me!

I felt like doing a trio of tags, so here's my final one!

I thought I'd do a little 'get to know me' one.

Is your hair naturally curly or straight?

It's naturally very straight with a slight kink at the ends. Everyone used to complain because as a teenager I didn't have to straighten it and they all did.

Do you dye your hair or go to the hairdressers?

I dye my hair myself. I use the colour XXL in Extreme Black - I never planned to go black, it just sorta happened. I love it. I'm pale so it suits me well I think. Think Snow White Chic.

Do you wear it in the same style everyday or do you change it up?

I change it up always. Sometimes I straighten it, sometimes it's natural, it might be a pony on Wednesday and a Bun on Thursday then a completely new look the weekend! I went for pony today with a quiff.. lovely.

Do you do your own manicure or do you visit a nail bar?

I visit my local nail bar as much as I can, I have acrylic nails but keep them short and sweet. They're currently nude - very professional.

How often do you change your nail polish?

For my toes, I change it on a whim. They're hot pink at the moment, but who knows, they might be yellow tomorrow. My nails however are done fortnightly by Hannah, my nail technician.

Do you polish your toes in the summer or winter too?

I polish my toes all year around, although they do get neglected over the winter and end up a little chipped - in the summer the chlorine chips them too. *sigh* Never mind - at least I make the effort.

How long does it take you to put on your make up?

My routine normally takes about 20-30 minutes as a whole, so I'm not sure how much of that is make up. I'll have to time it for you.

What do you do first? Face or Eyes?

Face for sure.

Do you buy make up when you need it or collect it?

I collect make up. I've steadily started growing it for fun. I just like opening drawers and seeing that array of beautiful packaging.. mmmmmmmm.

How often do you wear false lashes?

I only wear them for an occasion, such as a interview or dinner out.

Do you have a full face of make up everyday?

I do, unless I'm working or going to the gym, then I do a basic face look, striping it all back.

Do you leave home without make up on?

I do, but only to pop out and see the horse or to the local shop for snacks.

How many high end products do you have?

Not many, I mostly have high street but my high end products are slowly growing, slowly but surely.

Do you plan your OOTD the night before or in the morning?

I always plan the night before, it's just much quicker in the mornings to throw on a pre planned outfit!

How often do you change your handbag?

I change my handbag about once a month - boring right?!

How often do you blog?

Not as much as I used too and that's a real annoyance to me! I used to have a lot of readers, although my ratings have gone up recently and I believe that's to Twitter! I am getting back into it now, I've done one everyday this week which is a lot for me!

Would You Rather? | TAG

Would You Rather..

..lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, lip glosses OR your eyeshadows and palettes?

I think I'd rather lose my eyeshadows - I couldn't live without mascara or my MAC lippys :(

*

..chop off all of your hair or never cut it?

I'd rather cut it.. it's shortish now, where before it was down to my waist. Easy decision.

*

..have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Oh gosh. I think maybe a pink as coral seems a bit too orange for me..

*

..spend £1000 on clothes or make up?

Can I do halvsies on this one? I would like to spend on make up however I think £1k is a BIT excessive.

*

..use eyeliner as lipstick or lipstick as eyeliner?

I think I'll go with lipstick as eyeliner.. I don't fancy dark lips although I could use some of my plum coloured lipsticks as nice gel eyeliners!

*
..shop in MAC or Sephora?

We don't have a sephora in UK so I go with MAC. Although I'd LOVE a Sephora!
*Insert emoji with hearts for eyes here*

..only use one eyeshadow shade or one lipstick shade?

I actually think I'm going to go with lipstick.. the MAC creme cup please! I'd rather go bolder on the eyes.

*

..wear summer clothes in the winter or winter clothes in the summer?

Neither really! If I had too, summer clothes in winter. I guess you could always lay in bed all day and stay warm.

*

..have dark nails or bight nails all year round?

BLACK NAILS. Or Grey. Or Navy. DARK DARK DARK PLEASE.

.. only wear your hair in a pony or a messy bun?

Pony, with a quiff and smooth sides.. classic. Especially with black hair. Just suits me well.

.. never paint your nails or never wear lipgloss?

Never wear lipgloss. I like the stuff but I couldn't live without my fortnightly trip to my nail salon. My poor talons.

What's In My Make Up Bag? | TAG

Hey Everyone !

Today I'm doing the 'What's In My Make Up Bag?' TAG.

This is my 'everyday' make up. Just for work, or casual outings.
Some things switch out daily such as lipstick, and some weekly - like blusher.

- Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer - This is my 'go-to' primer, it's silky smooth and has awesome staying power.

-  NARS All Day Weightless Luminous Foundation in Siberia - This is my newest foundation but so far my favourite. The bottle just isn't big enough, I need more!

- Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in Porcelain - This concealer is so thick but it doesn't crease. Beautiful.

- Benefit's Hello Flawless Powder in Ivory - This powder is the perfect compact size for my handbag.

- Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in Peach - This mousse blush is perfect, I've used the same blusher for ages as it compliments my skin well.

- Barry M Waterproof Gel Eyeliner - A staying power gel eyeliner is a staple in my handbag. Can't smudge those flicks!

- Rimmel Max Volume Flash Waterproof Mascara - I love the brush on this mascara!

- Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Brown/Black - As I dye my hair dark, blonde eyebrows don't really go! This makes it right.

- Basic Eyelash Curlers - Need I say any more?

- MAC Sheer Lipstick in Hot Tahiti - A beautiful red for today :)

I also try out new products constantly on the day to day basis. I can add a bit of eyeshadow, kohl liner or glosses/lipsticks whenever I feel like it. I also like to try a new product out as soon as I purchase it or receive it.

- Rimmel's Brow This Way Brow Gel - This colour works really well for the eyebrow issue I have going on!

- UNE Natural Beauty Fund-Raising Lip Balm - I love this balm, I wore it to a job interview and it stayed moisturised all day. Even with all the lip biting!

- MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo Lipstick in Oxblood - This gorgeous little peachy number is slowly becoming my go to.. look at the packaging too! Super cute.

- Prep + Prime Highlighter in Radiant Rose - I don't always wear highlighter but this little pen is the perfect pick me up.

- Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves Mascara - I try so many mascaras, currently this one's my favourite.

- MAC Eyeshadow in Yogurt

- Topshop Cameleon Glow in Wax + Wane - Not sure if I like this, it's not a colour that really suits me.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation | Review

Today I’m going to be reviewing the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless in Siberia.
This product was purchased by myself from the Selfridges website.

Colour Range

The colour range for this foundation is incredible. I kind of expect that from a high end foundation however. I was impressed with the range within the range, if you know what I’m getting at! There’s not just two light, two medium and two darker – there’s actually 20 shades! From ‘Siberia’ (a neutral balance of white and yellow undertones) to ‘Khartoum’ (a dark with espresso undertones.) Although, I found it hard to get hold of my colour online!

Packaging

I really love the packaging of this foundation. It’s so classy! The matte black square lid, the frosted glass. The glass really does pull that element of luxury to the product rather than plastic. The logo really does pull it all together. It comes in a lovely black box, similar to MAC’s products but I hardly ever keep them, there’s just not the room in my storage system. The leaflet inside has all the information you need, ingredients, how to apply, coverage information, which is helpful.

Coverage and Application

The leaflet states that the coverage is a full, natural looking one whilst still remaining weightless – I agree completely. I love a full coverage foundation as I have un-even skin tone. The consistency is thinner than my Rimmel foundations. The more you shake the bottle, the thicker it seems to become. It blends really well though. I’ve tried a variety of different tools to apply it, to find the best way. So far it’s a mixture of my fingers and my beauty blender, soaked in warmer water. I find the warmth helps this foundations blend into my skin better. Colder tools such as the beauty blender in colder water and the brushes I usually use seems to smear the foundation and not let it sink in properly. I first tried it on the back of my hand where I have quite prominent blue veins and the difference it made was remarkable. But all without making my skin look cakey and covered in makeup.

 Promises

However, the promised 16 hour coverage doesn’t last. Don’t get me wrong, it has got a brilliant coverage time, it’s more like 8 hours. This may be down to the fact that I have oil-combination skin so I find it hard to keep any make up on longer than this.
Overall, I do like this foundation. It’s full coverage, perfect colour match. I’m happy to pay the £32 for this product as I believe it is worth the money. Unlike the MAC Studio Fix Plus.
What’s your thoughts on the NARS ADIW Foundation?

My January Wish List | Wish Lists

Hey guys! I’m back. I know I’ve been really slack recently with all of my social media. I’m not going to give you a list of excuses. I’ve got so much exciting things coming your way. Some a bit further away so I can’t tell you, (just hold tight about 8 months) and I can start a whole new channel theme, homeware, new backdrops and room tours ;) that’s right, a new house! Anyway today I’m here with a wish list... I quite like reading these so maybe you might too. One I really like is ‘Soraya Bakhtiar’s Ultimate blogger wishlist. This – hopefully – is something I’ll do once a month, let you know what I’ve really been pining after – and if I’ve gotten it!
Let’s jump straight in!

CLOCKWISE FROM TOP: Pull&Bear 70’s Floral Shirt; Huit Nouvel Emoi Lace Slip; ASOS Wide Led Trousers in Crepe; ASOS Dot Texture Blazer with Slim Lapel; Abercrombie & Fitch Crew Neck Sweashirt; Grafea Hari Backpack and Finders Keepers Fatal Attraction Dress.
So here it is – my February wish list! I could have easily filled this page up with hundreds of items but I thought it was maybe best to stick with seven for now. All of these items can be purchased through ASOS.com – which makes for very easy shopping. Whoops!

Pull&Bear 70’s Floral Shirt

How cute is this shirt? I’ve got sheer(ish) black shirts, I got them for work but recently I’ve been wearing them on my days off and I’m starting to really love them. This shirt is gorgeous! The ditzy, white floral print makes it eye catching. How I’d wear it? I’d wear it with high waisted, ripped jeans, black suede heeled boots and a black blazer – making the shirt the centre of attention OR in the summer try it over blue rolled up jeans and black sandals for a more laid back vibe.

Huit Nouvel Emoi Lace Slip

Now this is less of a fashion choice to wear out in public but it’s still gorgeous! I haven’t had a ‘nighty’ since I was small, so I am realllly lusting after a grown up one.

ASOS Wide Leg Trousers in Crepe

Bring back the swinging sixties! These are perfect for the upcoming spring and summer. The off white colour ensures this and the wide leg is perfect for those warmer days. How I’d wear it? I’d wear it with a white v-neck vest top, one of the ones with lacy edging and a nude Blazer. Try loose beach waves and sunnies for that glam look.

ASOS Dot Texture Blazer with Slim Lapel

I want to hold onto the fall/winter colours still. I really, really love this dark mulled wine/berry colour blazer. I’ve always loved blazers and I’ve built myself up quite a collection of styles and colours. How I’d wear it? Wear it with my cosy Primark tartan scarf (it’s like a blanket) as it ties in the wine colour, a leather strap watch and some gold bracelets. Nice and warm!

Abercrombie & Fitch Crew Neck Sweashirt

This sweatshirt is perfect for a lazy day! You must have those days too, where you want to lay around the house, watch Pretty Little Liars and eat Wotsits.. oh no, that’s just me. Anyway.. That’s what I’d do in this jumper. Or it might even see the inside of the gym. How I’d wear it? I’d style it like Kim K and wear leather look trousers and matching pumps. I love her look.. OR I’d wear it with my jogging bottoms.

Grafea Hari Backpack

This backpack is so cute. I have a cheaper dupe of this bag from Primark, a white one too but sometimes it’s just worth it to get the real thing. It’ll feel and look so much nicer on my back.

Finders Keepers Fatal Attraction Dress

This is a real eye catcher for me, just look at that netting underneath that dress! And that halter neck too… it’s to die for! I personally think a little white dress is just as classy as your standard LBD – unless you’re a guest a wedding. Maybe not the best to rival the bride. How I’d wear it? Wear with black heels and a black clutch bag for a simple monochrome look.

I’ll be back next month with a new wishlist! See you then.

What’s on your wishlist?
